Scout Bike Alarm & Finder
Decibels (dB) are used for measuring the relative loudness of sounds. Our bells and alarms are 80 & 85 dB respectively, which together with their tone, cuts through the noisiest of environments, while remaining below a harmful dB level.
We understand that your bike is a prized possession and leaving it unattended, even when secured, can be risky. Scout provides unparalleled bike security by combining both an extremely loud 85db bike alarm function with a highly accurate bike finder, using Apple’s ‘Find My’ app. The future of bike security is here.

Once armed, any movement of a Scout fitted Bike will trigger the motion-sensitive audio alarm discouraging any further movement and alerting the bike’s owner, both by the sound of the alarm and via a notification that is automatically sent to the owner’s iPhone (when in Bluetooth range).
Then in a scenario where a bike fitted with Scout is not where the owner has left it, it can be quickly located using Apple’s network via the ‘Find My’ app.

Great product works as advertise
I bought the Kong Scout to protect my new bike and ensure it's trackable in the event it is stolen. I've seen a lot of other reviews where people seem to not understand what the product is.
It is NOT:
- A device with in-built GPS tracking
- An alarm that you can monitor anywhere
- An internet connected device
It IS:
- An alarm that connects to your phone when in Bluetooth eange
- A tracker that relies on the Apple Find My Network
- An amazing bit of kit.
This relies on nearby iPhones and iPads to ping off it in the event of a theft. With a large number of iPhones out there, this means your bike could theoretically be tracked very easily. The Bluetooth range to monitor the alarm is very short, but that's the nature of Bluetooth. It does exactly what it says on the tin, and I love it.
I bought it from 99 Bikes because it was significantly cheaper there in AU - but would highly recommend. Hid it under my bottle holder.
An excellent product which works brilliantly.
I was searching for a way to be alerted if my bike alarm goes off. A 2 way pager alarm. This would have been perfect but it only works if you’re within Bluetooth range and if the app is open on your phone. If the app is not open, it won’t alert you. Therefore if you arm your bike, be sure to leave the app running on your phone. I’d gladly give this a 5 star rating if I’m doing something wrong. Overall I still recommend this device because there is still a level of security although I already have 2 apple AirTags in hidden spots.
I really like the idea of this product, and the battery life alone makes it one of the better trackers for bikes. It's great to have a discretely placed alarm on your bike, for quick stops at cafés or shops.
My problem is with the tracking function, and it practically makes it worthless: The Find My network has built-in measures to prevent unwanted tracking of people, which is really a good thing in a more general sense. However, this feature also alerts the bike thief that they are being tracked after a short while. My bike was recently stolen from outside my workplace, and the last pinged location was just a kilometer away, mere minutes after the theft. If the thief hadn't already thought about looking for trackers, they were certainly told to. The alarm did not turn out to be much of a help either. This was also in the middle of a city, so it is unlikely that the device just hasn't been in range of an Apple device yet.
If you want theft protection, you are probably better off getting a bike lock with built-in alarm. They are much louder.
