Lumens are a measure of the total amount of visible light from a light source. The higher the lumen rating the “brighter” the light will appear.
The Bilby Run 400 Headlamp is the perfect trail-side companion for runners looking to see & be seen. This powerful running headlamp also features a translucent, one piece silicone strap that allows the red side illumination LEDs to shine through, creating a bright halo-effect.

Being a field biologist and general adventurer I have a lot of flashlights, but none comes close to the versatility of the Bilby Run. I use it to run before sunrise, as a backup headlamp for mine exploring and bat monitoring, headlamp for night sport climbing and boldering, reading and cooking on campsite while bikepaking. You name it! It can do it all! I just wish Knog could have an EU distributer or wherehouse.
Was a Christmas gift for a friend. She loves it so far
Bright, easy to use, comfortable. Light enough that on an ultra I'll just carry 2. Or 3.
My only gripes would be that the ModeMaker app is no longer available for Mobile- only Windows/Apple desktop. And, the functionality is fairly limited. You can't create your own light combination modes, only select from an existing set. Most of which are better suited for going to a costume party as a Cylon or KITT from Knight Rider. I can make do with the available set, but there are some practical things I'd like that just aren't available.
Best lamp I‘ve ever had.
This is a simple to use and comfortable head lamp. I wanted something that I could toss into my pack for running while traveling and this one fits the bill nicely. It charges via USB-A without the need for any additional cables and I can choose which features I want to enable using the ModeMaker app: I can make it flexible or dead-easy with one mode available if that's all I need.
The silicone band is comfortable and adjusts easily while maintaining enough tension that it stays put but doesn't give me a headache like some others do.
Since this is new, I am still learning the controls as I decide what I actually need/want to have available. I generally don't mess with the light too much while I am running, so a basic config with the "boost" ability and a low-power setting are probably all I need. I can see how all of the options may be overwhelming for some people, including me. However, once I decide, stripping it down to only what I need is simple and is what I'll do.
