Once armed, any movement of a Scout fitted Bike will trigger the motion-sensitive audio alarm discouraging any further movement and alerting the bike’s owner, both by the sound of the alarm and via a notification that is automatically sent to the owner’s iPhone (when in Bluetooth range).
Then in a scenario where a bike fitted with Scout is not where the owner has left it, it can be quickly located using Apple’s network via the ‘Find My’ app.

Scout Bike Alarm & Finder
After I moved from an iPhone SE2 to an iPhone mini 12, the Scout no longer works reliably. Each time after I recharge the Scout, my phone's Knog app can no longer connect to it—EVEN THOUGH Find My CAN FIND IT AND MAKE IT BEEP. Now the factory-reset procedure doesn't work. I've removed it from the phone's Bluetooth list, from the Knog app, from Find My, taken it off the bike, put it on a desk face-down, connected a USB-C cable, pressed and held the button on the Scout, it beeps immediately… and then nothing: it's supposed to make 3 long beeps after 10 seconds.
Giving up on this useless device.
Brilliant bit of kit. Simple to set up IF you read the instructions, or have used other Knog BT devices.
Next level would be autoarm/autodisarm based on phone proximity or NFC.
Anyway - stellar stuff.
It’s great
Scout is well made and attached easily under my water bottle cage. The app works well. Main feedback is it slightly difficult to pair. Followed the instructions religiously but it took three times for one and two times for the other to pair. It should be as simple and easy as an ITag to set up.
