Be it a bike light or bluetooth speaker, Knog makes an excellent product at a decent price point. I've been not only pleased but impressed with the quality and engineering of my past purchases and so I didn't hesitate to buy 2 Scout Travels. Truth be told, I am not the most digital savy person which means that for me, pairing them to my IOS device was challenging. After spending a good couple of hours, one paired and one did not. I've tried several times to do a factory reset of the unpaired unit. No luck. So, as they say, my adventure so far is bitter sweet.
Bought two for our luggage and just returned home after a very long trip to Antarctica. These performed flawlessly, held their charge and gave us confidence on our luggage. I could even connect from my airplane seat. One suggestion is to make the QR code in contrasting colors so the handlers can see it if needed.
when will the app be available for android?
Hi Pawel - Currently, Scout is only compatible with Apple products. We are still researching Android programs and technology that may be compatible in the way that we need for the Scout to function and currently we are waiting on an Apple Find My equivalent platform to not only be able to provide the necessary features, but to also be open to third party developers such as ourselves. Once the technology becomes available we'll get it sorted ASAP.
I like Knog Scouts…I have one for my bicycle and liked how it doesn’t look like a tracker/alarm. Similarly, this is a good looking tag that I have attached to my backpack. I can put whatever contact details I want without needing extra paper as with a conventional tag. My only complaint would be the difficulty of securing the security wire. It was tricky to loop it to my backpack then secure it.
Works well and was easy to set up. I can monitor my luggage via my phone.
The color stands out so that you can see it on your luggage.
