Oi Luxe Bike Bell

Easy to install, looks great, easy to use, and most importantly makes a good ding.

Buy your bell from any other manufacturer, it is a bad joke that you need to buy the thread separately for EUR 3. Unfortunately, I cannot laugh at it.

The most beautiful bicycle bell I have seen!
BUT:
- No sound at all in minus degrees (Celsius). Which makes the bicycle illegal in Sweden.
- Too low sound level (decibel) in plus degrees (Celsius). Not audible in longer distance...
-> I had to buy a another bicycle bell. :-(

To product responsible:
- You must test in real conditions!
- Make improvements to make better sound.
Then I am interested to buy the new version. :-)

This bell let me mount it on the left side, my preference for 70 years. My e-bike with a Bosch Intuvia system occupies the handlebar space where I would normally put a bell. And the crowded right side isn't much better.

A Large Oi Luxe can fit over the Ergon grip that's standard on my Tern NBD. Yet it doesn't block or interfere with the brake lever or the Intuvia remote's operation, located next to the grip. I can use a natural downward thumb motion to ring the bell without looking. And yet still operate the brake lever, and reach the Bosch tactile buttons by sightless touch, my hand never leaving the grip.

As others note, however, the sound level is not the loudest. Adequate for pedestrians & pets in fairly quiet environments. But not very noticeable in noisier urban settings. For that reason I withheld 1 Star.

Otherwise attractive & discreet, and important to me, allows a left-hand placement.

I have one of these on every bike I own except track bikes. Basically weigh nothing. More pleasant than screaming “hey dickhead”.

The Oi Luxe Bike Bell looks great, but that is about it. The first obstacle I encountered was mounting it to my drop bar handlebars. You have to be very particular about where and how it is mounted because if the brake or gear cables touch the bell they will dampen the sound. Additionally, if the bell has raindrops on it or gets too wet, it dampens the sound. Finally, if the bell gets bumped around and gets out of position off of its two or 3 supports, it dampens the sound. So let us assume you found a place to mount it where it doesn't touch anything, and you have fiddled with it such that you can actually ring it. The sound is lovely I will give you that but this is easily the quietest bell I have ever had the displeasure of using. If there are no cars or no ambient noises around sure it is fine but in a city the bell was all but useless. Additionally, I have a handlebar bag and since the bell mounts rather low versus a raised traditional bell the handlebar bag would obstruct and interfere with the sound enough to the point that it was all but useless. No one could ever hear me ringing it until I was upon them. I wonder if the non deluxe version works better but given the issue I found with my handlebar bag I would prefer to play it safe and opt for a traditional bell that mounts above the handlebars. I used this bell on a 1,500 bike tour and never felt confident that pedestrians or other bikes could hear me coming.

The design is elegant and practical, I love this little dinger.

I couldn’t be more pleased with this lovely little bell. It’s a great addition to the dashboard - beautifully made and feels like having a little bit of art on board. I’m glad I went with the raw finish rather than the black and love how little space it takes up. Great for touring. Thanks also for the environmentally thoughtful packaging.

This bell looks so slick on my gravel bike, the minimal design fits seamlessly with the handlebars as though it was always meant to be there, and it is easy to reach when required.
The sound produced is unlike any other bell I've heard - warm, bright, and with gentle sustain. It is a pleasant sound in contrast to the shrill noise of the default bike bell, and it is easy to vary the intensity of the volume to match varying levels of urgency.
I honestly can't think of any negative points towards this product. I'm very happy with this purchase.

This is the Best Bell Ever! Put it on my Crust Bombora (Crust Bars) and it fit without the included shims on the 35cm bars. I had to use a zip-tie to keep the back brake cable away from the Bell because it dulled the sound. Once set up and adjusted, I find it a pleasure to use. I ride early in the morning, at daybreak, and there are a lot of dog-walkers, and walkers and runners out, as well as other cyclists. By varying the pressure on the spring I can give them a friendly little ding, or a great big warning DING depending on what message I want to convey. This is a truly outstanding product, and I don't say that about many things. I will be buying a couple more for my other bikes.

Nice Bell, but……..please dimensioning the screw a little bit longer!

Oi Luxe Bike Bell

It is my 3rd OI bell

this seems like a nice bell! i have a vintage italian bike, and sizing proved pretty difficult--my handlebar diameter is too thick for the small size, but weirdly sized enough that the larger size didn't end up working in the long term. with the thicker shim, i was able to secure the bell and use it in dry, sunny conditions. the chime is pleasant, and loud enough that you can get drivers' attention with it. my trouble came while biking in rain, however. outside of dry conditions, the bell began to slip, rotating on my handlebars every time i went to activate it.

tl;dr: great bell, easy to install, and instructions are crystal clear. your mileage may vary when trying to use it with weirder, older bikes.

also: securing a return label was quite easy, though I am still waiting to hear back on whether or not that return has been successfully processed.

Doesn't ring true on every use. On some uses it makes a very dull noise.

It’s a really cute and delicate ding!

I purchased 2 of these bells for my e-bikes, but find that the noise level is too low to attract the the attention of hikers and others on the bike trail. I will likely try to return the one unopened product or exchange for one with a louder ring.

This bell is sleek and looks amazing. The sound is equally as good.

Very nice ring tone that seems to last a long time. Highly recommend this product and merchant.

Beautifully constructed, performs great, easily attached to bars unlike some others and a fantastic out of the way low profile. Expensive yes but buy quality and you buy once.

Shipping box arrived trashed, probably not Knog's fault.
The bell was shipped in retail packaging placed in a box that was wat too big with no padding, even wadded up paper could have worked, a padded envelope would have been more secure.
The bolt that holds it all together is missing, probably rattled out during shipping and escaped throught the trashed box. I think I have a spare.
It is a good bell though, just careless shipping and handling. I'm removing a star for the missing bolt and a star for the oversized crushed and split box.

I bought the small in black. Once attached to the handlebars it's barely audible and produces a dull "thud" sound, no amount of adjusting the tightness changes that. Within a few strikes the black was noticeably worn off and it looked far less the luxury version of what it's supposed to be.
