Elegant Bells

My partner and I both got these bells for our bikes so it looks like our bikes are married too!
They're also nice bells.

Almost perfect!

Love this bell! The low profile, stealth and stylish design is the reason I bought it a second time. Which leads me to its one flaw: it is possible for the hammer to come off during normal operation. The hammer is only attached to the spring via a pressure fit (with some adhesive possibly). Same goes for how the spring is attached to the rest of the bell. Was riding down the trail ready to alert some pedestrians and the hammer flew off into the bushes. Could I get the premium version to avoid this issue in the future? Yeah, but I don't like the design as much as the classic. Just wish there was either A) a way to replace the hammer or B) a more solid connection between the hammer and the rest of the bell body. Great product though!

Kind of functional, but a bit disappointing

I had high hopes for this to be my solution to politely let people know I am approaching on shared paths, instead of loudly free hubbing at them. Unfortunately due to the brake and shifter cables near my road bike's stem and drop bars, the cable holders on the inside of the bell housing do not line up for me to easily reach thumb lever / ringer of the bell. It's too far down, meaning I need to reach awkwardly for it. So I can't easily ring the bell properly, and it just sort of has a dull thud or a short, muffled chime, and takes sometimes 3-5 attempts to ring properly, which by then is too late to be useful. Because of the weird angle I have to hit the bell ringer lever from, it sort of pulls it from the side and seems to have damaged or deformed the spring in some way. If there was some way to adjust where the cable holder is this wouldn't be a problem. I have spent a bit of time trying different ways of installing the bell and just can't seem to get it in a sweet spot that works as designed. For reference I have a a mechanical 105 shifter/ rim brake set up with Cannondale bars on a 2017 CAAD12.

'a beautiful design that's just as effective on the road as it is on the trail.'

‘It was easy for us to give the Knog Oi Classic Bike Bell such a high overall score of 9 / 10. It seems to have the perfect combination of features, quality and price making it a great all-rounder.’

What sets the Oi Classic Bike Bell apart?

A beautiful aesthetic, tone & fit make Oi Classic a pleasure to use.

The Sound

The strike of the bell is firm and fast, allowing a good balance of volume and longevity of sound.

The Fit

Just pop it over you handle bar, give the hex screw a quick tighten up, and you’re good to go.

The Mount

Handle-bar cables? No worries. Built into the shape of the mount is a cable management system.

The Look

Where bells usually protrude up or out, Oi doesn’t. It appears to hover around the handle bars.

Features +-

The Mount

What about the handle-bar cables? No worries. Built into the shape of the mount is a cable management system. So not only does it allow the bell to look and sound uninterrupted, it also helps gather your cables (for the organiser inside us all).

The Look

The Oi bell’s shape originates from its home – the handle bar. Where bells usually protrude up or out, Oi doesn’t. It appears to hover around the handle bars. In one sense, it’s discreet. But in another, it stands out as unrecognisable.

The Sound

With a spring-loaded actuator built into the mount, the strike of the bell is firm and fast, allowing a good balance of volume and longevity of sound. Our bell actually has several pitch tones – one core and several supportive higher tones to ensure it’s unmistakable and safely heard.

The Fit

What about getting it on the bar? Just pop it over, give the hex screw a quick tighten up, and you’re good to go. For handlebars measuring 23.8 – 26 mm in diameter we have supplied a spacer to help the Oi fit snugly and securely to your bars. This can be found discretely tucked into the reverse of the grey packaging insert.
