The Plugger Front Bike Light is a light inspired by Knog’s roots, and like its little sibling the Plug, comes in overmolded soft touch TPU (rubber like material). A bike light praised for its brightness and battery life. Customers said "the light rocks, so bright" and appreciated its "excellent visibility." However, the rubber band mounting system received criticism for being "fiddly" and difficult to attach with one hand. Some concerns about durability, including charging failures and fragile plug covers. MicroUSB charging is outdated.

Great front light

The Plugger Front Bike Light is a great front light. When my only front light ran out of juice the other morning, I decided to get the Plugger to add to me front lights. Now I use it for distance lighting and the other light to light up the pavement in front of me.

Terrible design

Broke within two weeks of owning it. Do not buy.

Great minimalist design... except for the fact that the flimsy material inevitably results in the front hook breaking off from the rubber housing, rendering it useless within a couple years of light use. So only purchase if you consider the price reasonable for a couple years of use.

Worst headlamp on the market

I've been given one of these headlamps for my commuter. Used it for less than a year now it won't charge at all. The elastic loop is useless as well is you do any gravel riding. Your light will be pointing at your front tire within 300 m. Not recommended - even if it is only $20. Buy a decent Bontrager headlight and be done with it.

Small but Blasts the Light, Rechargeable!!!!!!

Like this headlight lots, use it for AM commutes and PM home bound, simple and effective. Use the full beam on the one Downhill decent in the AM, then switch it to flicker/strobe for the rest of my ride, in which I'm more interested to be seen by the cager's than see where I'm going... Just the right amount of light for my needs.

Knog Plugger Strap issue

Straps provided were not that flexible. Snapped on first removal from handlebars (31.8mm) Was a bear to get onto bar and removal was also. I flagged that the provided silicone bands were too small and not stretchy and heard nothing. Came with transparent strap. Using a black strap from another Knog product which seems to stretch better (and is the identical size)

Amazing quality, great bright light, hate microUSB charging port tho

The only reason for removing a star is because micro usb charging should be illegal. It’s the worst. Apart from that, the light rocks, so bright, stays still, easy to use. If it was a USB C port we’d have an easy 5/5.

Great light excellent lamination visibility and also backs up as a flashing safety light with very long charge life.

The red light is a sharp looking unit, and it installed super easily. Charged up easy, and gives great illumination.

perfectly minimal…

Love the simplicity of the design, the beam, and the band latching (as opposed to most lights with a slide). Only comment is that, while riding, it tends to slip slightly up and needs re-positioning.

Not as good as the old knog

The rubber rings are fiddly and you can't out them on with one hand. Also the week after I bought it you sent me an email telling me they're now half price since end of life! I just replaced an old knog light still working because you no longer make the clip (the clip failed).

Excellent light

Great light, but nervous about the rubber band

It's got good illuminance and battery life seems good. I am however concerned about how robust the rubber band is. It's quite fiddly to get it on/off the handlebars and I'm concerned I'm going to snap the rubber band. I hope not!

Decent but plug doesnt stay put

Seems like a good like and looks great on my bike! But the plug covering the charging port and that you push on to turn the light on/off doesn’t stay put and often pops out of the light

Plugger

The light is suitably bright for many on road situations. Be aware that the beam is very directed making the most of the power but offering little lateral coverage. Sufficient modes and battery life for pre-sunrise uses. The mounting system is disappointing. I have been unable to fit the light below the bars on any rolled bar bike due to cables. This creates a space issue above the bars when a wahoo is present.

Broken hook

Great looking light, bright and functional, easy to use and charge. Broken hook after three weeks. Useless.

Good light but the mounting is annoying

It's a good bright light and the battery life seems OK. The rubber band mount to the handlebars needs to be removed to charge the light and it's fiddly to get back on - using the bigger band makes it slip on the handlebars and the small one is very tight.

Adaptable light

Perfect for swapping around and mixing up location for different bikes. Enough functions to do the job. What I needed and with good lumens for the price.

Good front light except for "plugger"

Light works well but after a couple of times, the small plastic piece that attaches to the covering plug snapped and I lost the plug on a ride. The small soft plastic attachment is too flimsy and breaks too easily. The switch and USB port is now exposed and I need to tape it up when I go for a ride.

Easy on &off

Bright and solid but I used some of my own silicone tape around the bar first to bulk-out and stabilise the attachment.

Plugger=Good, Simple Light

Nice light, especially for the price! I could wish for the strap to hook in a bit more easily, but on the other hand, it is secure once attached. (Maybe I just need to be careful what I wish for!)
