Blinder 1300 Front Bike Light
Lumens are a measure of the total amount of visible light from a light source. The higher the lumen rating the “brighter” the light will appear. Lux is a similar method to measure light across a surface area that is often used in European markets.

I’ve been a fan of Knog products for a while, as they’re known for their durability, superb warranty, and excellent customer support. So, when I needed a new light for my trail rides, I decided to give the Knog Blinder 1300 a try, despite it being designed more for road and commuter use.
The light is incredibly bright and super easy to operate, which I appreciate. However, when using it for trail riding, I noticed that its beam isn’t wide enough to give me the visibility I need to see what’s coming up next on the trail. It’s great for road cycling or commuting, but when it comes to trail use, it falls a bit short in terms of coverage.
I’d highly recommend the Blinder 1300 for general use, especially for road cyclists or commuters looking for a reliable, bright, and easy-to-use light. But if you’re focused on trail riding, I would suggest considering other options that offer a wider beam.
It would be fantastic if Knog could offer a light at this price point specifically designed for trail riding, similar to the products offered by Outbound Lighting or other flood MTB lights on Amazon. Ideally, it would also have the battery integrated into the light unit itself without the need for extra wires.
The light is super sturdy and easy to get on and off from the quick release go pro mount but it also holds it down nicely. I got 3 extra go pro mounts for all my bikes so now i can just pop the light onto what ever bike i end up riding that day. ITS AWESOME!!
I purchased the 1300 Blinder front light after getting (and loving) my Blinker tail light. I was always getting comments on the tail light so I decided to upgrade my front light.
Our group set off on a recent evening ride. As we made our way back towards the starting point, we lost daylight. I was really impressed with just how bright the high beam was! And it was easy to switch on the go from the pulse strobe to the steady beam.
Once again others started asking me what light I was using. And once again I raved on my new Knog lights.
I run a Blinder 900 on my handlebar and a 1300 on my helmet, and when both are run at their lowest settings (200 and 230 lumens, respectively) they're still bright enough for pitch black mountain biking. Blindingly bright on their highest settings. The design of both lights is simple and durable. Highly recommended.
