Once armed, any movement of a Scout fitted Bike will trigger the motion-sensitive audio alarm discouraging any further movement and alerting the bike’s owner, both by the sound of the alarm and via a notification that is automatically sent to the owner’s iPhone (when in Bluetooth range).
Then in a scenario where a bike fitted with Scout is not where the owner has left it, it can be quickly located using Apple’s network via the ‘Find My’ app.

I would say it needs more sound options possibly a custom sound option, longer battery life, & farther reach with service capability to arm & disarm.
Overall a great device 100% satisfied and has already helped me find my bike once when it was taken. Super light and very hidden. Picked my Knog Scout up at Mojo Cycling in Bentonville, Arkansas.

I’m definitely a fan of Knog products now.
I am using it only as an Airtag (localisation tracker), which is already nice to have : better than an Airtag thanks to its mounting on the bottle holder screws.
The problem is the sensitivity of the alarm : whatever the movement sensitivity parameter (that I have set to the minimum) the alarm will detect and go off as soon as the bike is barely touched ! This is not usable when you park your bike close to orher bicycles or it will go off when my neighbour simply touches my bike while attaching its own bicycle.
This is a pity.
At first thought I was going to be wasting my money. As I had some minor problems with my first device. But the company was great and took care of what needed to be done. A plus from the start. Got the new scout and works great. Have had two of these e bikes stolen in the past. No way to find them. This new alarm and gps has got to be the best thing I have found yet to secure my 2000.00 e-bike and like i said the company has kept its word on the item and that is all it needs to do for me. They stand right there and make the product work if not they get you a new one. So I don’t think I’ll have any issues if this bike comes up missing.
Security peace of mind
This lightweight, easy to install, alarm/tracker won’t prevent a thief from taking my bike, but it may make someone think twice once it starts making noise. Also, the ability to track with Find My is super helpful. The attachment behind a water bottle holder makes it almost invisible, and it does not add any weight to my e-bike. iPhone App works well so far. Easy to set up and arm.
